Setting the Record Straight: Accuracy, Accountability, and London’s Future

As someone running to represent the people of London, I believe in one simple truth — accountability starts with honesty.

Recently, I learned that some information I shared regarding local developers was incorrect, and I want to take a moment to clarify the facts. My goal has never been to spread misinformation, but rather to keep residents informed and engaged in the decisions that shape our city.

In a previous post, I referenced Gross Pointe Land Holdings, LLC as being the developer for multiple projects — including Johnson’s Creek, London Landing, and a condo community. That was incorrect.

After further review, I have confirmed that Gross Pointe Land Holdings, LLC is only directly involved with the Madison Reserve project. The other developments are managed by other entities.

This correction is important, and I take full responsibility for ensuring accuracy. It was never my intent to bring harm or cast a negative light on any developer. They are doing what is in the best interest of their companies. Seeking the greatest return on their investments and operating within the framework they’ve been allowed. My issue has always been with City Council and the Administration, who in my opinion have not adequately looked out for what is best for the long-term prosperity of the community in these development agreements.

But let me be very clear this clarification does not change my position on one of the most critical issues facing our city: the need for more affordable, workforce housing in London.

Recent development has focused on higher-priced housing that many working families simply cannot afford. Affordable workforce housing is essential to keeping our community strong, diverse, and economically stable.

Equally important, we must attract better-paying jobs to London. We can’t keep watching residents drive to other cities for work while spending their earnings elsewhere. It’s time to end the “bedroom community” cycle and create a local economy where people can both live and thrive right here at home.

I will continue to advocate for responsible growth, transparency in development, and policies that prioritize people over profits. My commitment to London’s future hasn’t changed — only my determination to make sure every fact, figure, and decision is rooted in truth.
